Section 18 of the Architectural Profession Act provides for four categories of registration. The category of registration is determined by the architectural qualifications an applicant obtained. Applicants without a SACAP recognised architectural qualification can be registered as Draughtspersons based on experience. i. Professional Architect; ii. Professional Senior Architectural Technologist; iii. Professional Architectural Technologist; or iv. Professional Architectural Draughtsperson
If you are registered outside South Africa, but want to undertake architectural work in South Africa, you will need to apply for registration with SACAP and write and pass the professional practice examination of this Council.

All SACAP’s applications are done online (from the website at www.sacapsa.com).

ONLY applications submitted online, in the prescribed format, will be considered.

All the fees levied by SACAP, including the administration fee for registration, are determined annually and published in the Government Gazette and on SACAP’s website.
