Registration Categories

In terms of section 18 (1) of the Architectural Profession Act No 44 of 2000 there are four categories of registration in which a person may register in the architectural profession. 

Categories of professionals

·         Professional Architects

·         Professional Senior Architectural Technologists,

·         Professional Architectural Technologists and

·         Professional Architectural Draughtspersons

Categories of Candidates

·         Candidate Architect

·         Candidate Senior Architectural Technologists

·         Candidate Architectural Technologists, and

·         Candidate Architectural Draughtspersons

Specified categories prescribed by the Council

·         Building Control Officer
