Welcome to SACAP

SACAP launches new online community for registered persons.

The South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) is a regulatory body established in terms of the Architectural Profession Act 44 of 2000 (the Act).

In terms of the Act, SACAP is responsible for regulating the architectural profession in South Africa.

The profession includes architects, senior technologists, technologists and draughtspersons (and candidates in each of those categories) and all persons who wish to practise in any of these categories are therefore required to register with SACAP.

SACAP is directed and managed by a council comprised of members appointed by the Minister of Public Works for a four-year term, with members being drawn from various stakeholder groups after a public nomination process.

SACAP is responsible for:

  • Providing for registration of persons within the architectural profession;
  • Protecting the public against unprofessional conduct by registered persons;
  • Guiding the profession and promoting the standards of education and training in the Built Environment

We hope you will explore the various features our site has to offer.

We created this online space for registered persons to log on and manage a dynamic member profile, collaborate on projects, share your ideas and expertise – and, most important, connect with your fellow architects.

Share, collaborate, exchange and grow – that's why we're here and we hope you are too. Engage and explore anytime, from anywhere there's a web connection.

Welcome. We're glad you're here.
