14 October 2025
In celebration of Architectural Month, the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) will host its 2nd annual Architectural Day event on 24 October 2025 to be held at the Academic Institute of Excellence (AIE) Midrand Campus. This significant event, taking place in the heart of Architecture Month, is themed “Design for Strength” and is aimed at honouring the rich heritage of architecture while embracing the dynamic future of the profession.
SACAP’s Architectural Day event will serve as a platform to bridge the gap between high school learners, tertiary students and industry professionals while creating a platform for inspiration, mentorship and knowledge sharing. This year’s event will celebrate excellence within the profession by highlighting and showcasing student achievements through exhibitions and panel discussions. The event will also demonstrate that architecture is not only a creative discipline but also a powerful catalyst for social and economic transformation.
Furthermore, this event aims to inspire
learners and students to pursue architecture as a career; motivate current
students to aspire to become architectural professionals; showcase
award-winning projects as sources of inspiration and mentorship; foster collaboration
among key stakeholders; and reinforce SACAP’s commitment to education,
transformation, and professional excellence.
