SACAP - Women In Architecture, South Africa (WiASA) calling all women, candidates and professionals to participate in the global celebration of women in architecture on 5 July 2017.
The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) is holding an International Week from 3 - 7 July 2017. The topic of the main conference is entitled "Change in the City : Opportunities for Architects in the new Urban Agenda".
As part of these events RIBA is initiating a global celebration of women in architecture on 5 July 2017 with the title Ethel Day hashtag#EthelDay. Ethel May Charles was an architecture pioneer becoming the first women architect to join the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1898.
Ethel Day is also an invitation to the architectural community around the world to celebrate the contribution of women in architecture, past and present by hosting their own event and participate on the day with contributions to the social media campaign - using the hashtag #EthelDay across social media platforms, architects and the public around the world are encouraged to share their stories, photos and inspiration.
The social media campaign kicks off 13h00 hours (BST) on Wednesday, 05 July 2017 and there will be live feeds of #EthelDay tweets displayed on a big screen through the day.
