SACAP is looking for academics and registered professionals to serve on the Validation Board for the remainder of the 5th term Council term

The South African Council for the Architectural Profession is a statutory body established in terms of section 2 of the Architectural Profession Act 44 of 2000. In terms of section 13 (a), (b) of the Act, the Council is authorised conduct accreditation visits to any educational institution which has a department, school or faculty of architecture.

Role description

The key function of the Validation Board are as follows:

·         Conduct accreditation visits to any educational institution which has a department, school or faculty of architecture.

·         Make recommendation to Council whether to grant conditional or unconditional, accreditation.

·          Make recommendation to Council to refuse or withdraw accreditation of architectural education programmes.

 

Requirements

Persons who believe that they have appropriate skills, expertise and experience, coupled with the passion and the drive to add value and contribute to transformation within the architectural education, are requested to submit their applications to Mr. Mzwakhe Hlatshwayo at Mzwakhe.Hlatshwayo@sacapsa.com  no later than 13 July 2022.

Applications should consist of the following:

  • a letter of application (comprising a maximum of two pages) explaining their reason and interest in being appointed to the Validation Board, and the value they believe they could add; and
  •  an abridged CV (comprising a maximum of three pages) highlighting their experience in the practice of architecture and architectural education.
