We are pleased to inform our stakeholders that on 15 August 2023, SACAP had meeting with the Honourable Minister Sihle Zikalala of the Department of Public Works & Infrastructure.

The Minister expressed the importance of architecture in infrastructure projects. The President of the Council informed the Minister that the Council is available to advise the Minister on any matter which relates to architecture and infrastructure projects.

The Minister requested to be briefed on Council leadership, programs, outreach activities to get more previously disadvantaged persons registered in the profession, support of emerging registered persons to grow in the profession, outreach programs to encourage previously disadvantaged persons to enrol for architecture qualifications, and the support of women participation in the profession.

This meeting provided an invaluable platform for SACAP to engage the Minister on matters affecting the profession and for the Minister to provide directives to Council.

The Minister also confirmed that he is finalising the appointment of the 6th term Council.
