Invitation to serve on the Transformation Committee

SACAP is looking for an architectural professional to serve on the Transformation Committee for the remainder of the 5th term Council term.

The South African Council for the Architectural Profession (“SACAP”) is a statutory body established in terms of section 2 of the Architectural Profession Act 44 of 2000. The statutory mandate of SACAP is to regulate the architectural profession by setting up standards education, registration and drawing up administering the Code of Conduct to regulate the architectural profession.

Role description

Transformation is a national strategic imperative in our country and it is a fundamental tenet in the vision and strategy of the 5th term Council. The objective of the Transformation Committee is to implement the 5th term Council transformation strategy.

The Transformation Committee is responsible for the following:

  • Play an oversight role on the implementation of the 5th term Council transformation strategy.
  • Ensure that the transformation strategy is operationalized.
  • Monitor and report on transformation progress within the profession;
  • Monitoring and reporting on issues of diversity, race and gender and ensure equal access to the profession.
  • Assist Council to develop appropriate transformation regulations and policies.

Requirements

Persons who believe that they have appropriate skills, expertise and experience, coupled with the passion and the drive to add value and contribute to transformation within the architectural profession, are requested to submit their applications to Ms. Mamokete Sehoole at Mamokete.Sehoole@sacapsa.com no later than 18 February 2022.

Applications should consist of the following:

  • a letter of application (comprising a maximum of two pages) explaining their reason and interest in being appointed to the Transformation Committee, and the value they believe they could add; and
  • an abridged CV (comprising a maximum of three pages) highlighting their experience in transformation within the architectural profession and built environment.
