Architectural Technologist

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, develop, and modify detailed architectural drawings and technical documentation.
• Coordinate and integrate architectural design with structural, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.
• Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, SANS standards, statutory requirements, and client specifications.
• Assist with building plan submissions and liaise with municipal authorities.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and surveys to support design development and resolve technical challenges.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and contractors throughout all project stages.
• Contribute to project quality assurance, detailing, and documentation close-out.

Requirements

• National Diploma / Degree in Architectural Technology or equivalent qualification.
• Registration or eligibility for registration with SACAP will be advantageous.
• Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in an architectural/engineering or construction environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is essential.
• Proficiency in ACC (Autodesk Construction Cloud) will be advantageous. Solid understanding of SANS building regulations, construction methods, and detailing.
• Experience in industrial projects is advantageous.
