The South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) is a regulatory body for the Architectural Profession. SACAP is established in terms of Section 2 of Act No. 44 of 2000. SACAP regulates the architectural profession by setting up standards for architecture education, training, registration, and ethical and professional conduct.
Position:
Officer: Officer Legal and Compliance
Role description
The candidate will be responsible for the following:
Investigations and complaints
of improper conduct
• Assist the Investigating
Committee on section 28 of the Act 44 of 2000 mandate to Investigate complaints
of improper conduct;
• Assist the Investigating
Committee in investigating the complaints of improper conduct initiated by any
business unit within SACAP and referred to the Legal and Compliance Unit.;

Gather information relevant to
the investigation of allegations made;
•
Timely conclusion of
investigations
•
Prepare quality investigation
reports
•
Maintain an effective filing
system and prepare Investigating Committee files.
•
Ensure compliance with the
Standard Operating Procedure.
• Handle all complaints of
improper conduct in terms of the of the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act
of 2000;
Professional service
support
• Assist with the provision of
professional guidance to SACAP, stakeholders, and Local Authorities..
• Monitor compliance about SACAP’s
legal, regulatory, and statutory aspects of its mandate;
•
Assist with the adherence to the
Act and the Code of Conduct;
•
Conduct presentations on the Act
and the Code of Conduct
• Drafting of legal contracts such
as Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Employment Contracts, Consultancy
Agreements; and Project Contracts.
Management Reporting
• Assist with the compilation of
Management reports to the Senior Manager Legal & Compliance
•
Ensure accurate reporting on monthly and on
quarterly basis;
Requirements
•
Matric/ Grade 12 or equivalent.
•
Bachelor of Laws/BProc degree
• Postgraduate qualification in
compliance, arbitration, and/or dispute resolution will be an added advantage
•
Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
•
General Litigation
•
Drafting experience
•
Report Writing
In

Compliance
