Title

Technical Report Writing

Presenter
(Name and some background info – bio on the presenter)

Isabella Strong is a well-known communications expert, professional writing instructor and coach. Starting out as…you guessed it…an English teacher she quickly progressed through the ranks in the teaching profession.

She then turned her attention to the corporate market and since 2001 she has been a fulltime Course Leader specialising in business communication, technical and business report writing as well as a variety of other soft skills programmes such as Business English, EQ, time management, diversity, team building, presentation skills, assertive communication and confidence skills just to name a few.

Her client list is very impressive and reads like a who’s who of leading South African companies, including Standard Bank, Eskom, RBCT, Sasol, FirstRand Bank, Lonmin Mines, Government Pension Fund, Investec…the list is so long! This wealth of experience means that Isabella is uniquely placed to give sound and credible advice and while her training courses are intensive and thorough, her easy presentation style, solid content and insights coupled with her brutal honesty quickly make all Course Participants very comfortable.

Isabella says, “writers of technical reports often assume that the facts will speak for themselves, even if they are hidden in masses of jargon and convoluted sentences. That’s a mistake. It takes the skilled hand of an insightful professional to craft a report that is reader friendly and yet maintains its technical integrity. This is sometimes a difficult balance for busy professionals working to tight deadlines. Good technical report writing depends on careful planning, good insight and effective strategies that maximise readability and knowledge transfer. Many professionals see any form of report writing as an add-on to their job when it is, in actual fact, a core skill. If you want your readers to have a“Eureka!” moment each time they read a report from you, then this course is a must.”
