Summary of key points:

Objectives:

  • The Delegate would understand the importance & relevance of this Law & Standards.
  • The Delegate would gain knowledge on the different wall types including the openings, their performance in fire & choice of walls types.
  • The Delegate would gain knowledge & tools on how to position buildings in relation to boundaries & other buildings to prevent the spread of fire.
  • The Delegate would understand the methodology to calculate & draw / depict the fire safety distance required.
  • The Delegate would understand & be able to apply in their building designs division areas, the separating elements & the reasons for these maximum sizes.
  • The Delegate would understand & be able to apply in their building designs Tenancy separation, Partitions, Protection of Openings, Raised / Suspended Floors of Combustible Material Roof Assemblies & Thatch Roof.
  • The Delegate would gain the knowledge& how to calculate the provision of fire-fighting equipment.
