Registering as a Candidate
Candidates may not practice unless under the supervision of a Registered Professional in his/her category of registration or higher. The supervising Registered Professional must ensure that the Candidate is exposed to the areas of work covered by the Candidates: Practical Training and Examination Policy Statement (SACAP/R0007) - click on the following hyperlink: /sacap/view/sacap/en/page24496 to download the relevant information. Applicants should provide details of the supervisor to SACAP when registering as a Candidate.
It is the responsibility of the Candidate to ensure that monthly training records for the month are submitted to SACAP within the first ten (10) days of the following month. Incomplete monthly training records will result in an extended candidacy period. Once a Candidate has attained 50% of the requisite practical training value units he/she may apply to sit for the PPE. The period of internship is 24 months, except for Candidate Draughtspersons for which the period is 36 months.
