Registration - Recognition of prior learning
Share |

Council took a decision in 2012 to withdraw the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy.

Currently, a person who is in practice and/or has incomplete qualifications must contact one of the SACAP accredited Architectural Learning Sites (ALS) - (see list provided on the SACAP website under the stakeholder section), to establish the process of having their experience or qualification assessed with a view to completing their qualifications. Alternately, a person must complete an academic qualification from enrolment stage until graduation.

The SACAP Registration Framework, is aligned with the Higher Education Qualifications Framework (HEQF) established by the Council for Higher Education (CHE) and allows a registered person to progress or upgrade from one category to another - see Registration Matrix (Place this document under the related documents on this website page).
Registered Persons should make contact with an accredited architectural learning site to obtain more information on the requirements of the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) including the assessment of current qualifications.
