Rules for investigations, disciplinary hearings, appeals, and disciplinary tribunal hearings

The South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) hereby advises that the rules pertaining to investigations, disciplinary hearings and appeals, investigations and disciplinary tribunal hearings have been gazetted for publication.

SACAP must investigate an act of alleged improper conduct by a registered person and/or investigate a complaint, charge or allegation of improper conduct against a registered person brought by any member of the public.

Furthermore, SACAP may take any reasonable steps which it considers necessary to protect the public in their dealings with registered persons, in order to maintain the integrity and enhance the status of the profession and to improve the standards of services rendered by registered persons.

Please note that the Rules for disciplinary proceedings, Board Notice 127 of 2005 have been replaced with the Rules for investigations, disciplinary hearings and appeals, investigations and disciplinary tribunal hearings, Board Notice 64 of 2017.
