Title of CPD course

Contemporary Concrete

Presenter

Daniel van der Merwe

Course information (Content/Overview)

Concrete is the world’s most used construction material, yet the potential of concrete needs to be understood. While concrete can easily be manufactured, scientific advances in material technology and application possibilities ensure an infinite and more sustainable future potential of advanced structural and architectural expression.

The performance of contemporary concrete continually accelerates through research development. This provides more possibilities to designers to adhere to ever increasing urban planning, technical, cost and aesthetic constraints within the sustainable paradigm. Attendees will be informed about more cost effective and energy efficient applications. New concrete based products, recently completed projects, current research and future trends will be touched upon in this visually stimulating presentation.
