This workshop will equip the delegate to gain working knowledge of the NEC Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) and will assist contractors, employers, consultants and financiers in becoming proficient in using the contract thereby managing project risk effectively. By getting an understanding of the relevant NEC procurement and contract administration processes the delegate will be able to manage and avoid disputes and increase the chances of projects being completed on time and within budget.

NEC ECC3 for use as construction and engineering contracts – Main and Sub-Contract

After attending this workshop you should have an understanding of:

  • The NEC Suite of books;
  • The NEC ECC Black Book;
  • The nine (9) core clauses;
  • The procurement options available through the use of the 6 main options A to F;
  • The secondary options;
  • The NEC terminology & philosophy;
  • The Risk Register;
  • The Works Information;
  • The use of the program;
  • Early Warnings;
  • Compensation Events and how to calculate additional cost due to the contractor;
  • Payment;
  • Completion & take over;
  • Dispute resolution;
  • The potential problem areas and possible solutions or risk mitigating strategies.
